My journey with photography started when I was child, as I’ve always loved to create, observe and preserve anything and everything. But I became obsessed with photography in college when I took my first darkroom class. One of my teachers encouraged us to try the Holga camera and I fell in love immediately. The dreamy, surreal quality of the images resonated so deeply with my soul as an artist. Through multiple exposures, light leaks and vignetting, the Holga has this amazing ability to create images that feel as though they’re from another dimension. As someone who has struggled with mental health issues since high school, the Holga allowed me to examine my fears and anxieties and express them in a visual way. The Holga saved me. I’ll forever be grateful to this incredible little camera. It also inspired me to pursue photography as a career and because of that, I’ve been a full-time photographer for the last 12 years. I owe everything to the Holga and it’s magic.
